Music

If I could be part of any music group that I didn’t particularly have interest in, it would probably be KISS, because they seem like they live the life and people love them.  I would definitely be Gene Simmons because he has the coolest makeup and his has his own reality television show.  Plus people love his tongue, which I think is really gross and weird.  I have never been into rock music.  There isn’t one thing I don’t specifically like about it, it just doesn’t float my boat.  I know rock musicians are just as talented as any other artists but I just don’t like them.  The blog said pick a type of music you strongly dislike and I really like all types of music, but if I had to choose one I would want to listen to rock would probably be my last choice.

High School Memories

I was thinking yesterday and though I love college and the experience I’m getting living here, there are some things I really miss about high school, senior year in particular.  Senior year of high school one of the best times of my life.  I had fun every single day.  I hardly did any work.  In high school, I was able to pick and choose what assignments I wanted to do and still made all a’s and b’s throughout.  I came to college and here I have to do every single one of my assignments in order to receive the grades I did prior to coming to this place.  I have to work very hard for all my grades, not that I’m not a hard worker, school just came to me a lot more easily before college.  Another thing about high school that I miss is I did exactly what I wanted when I wanted all the time.  Which probably isn’t the best thing truthfully.  If I didn’t want to go to class I would either roam the halls or go hang out in my math teacher’s classroom and talk to her.  Mrs. Silva was my favorite teacher and helped me get out of trouble a couple times.  I was also in this teaching program where I was able to go to an elementary school and student teach.  I had this class for two periods one semester so I was hardly ever at school.  One of the periods I really liked and went every single day.  For that  period I worked with a group of third graders and I loved them.  They were so fun, and doing that made me really decide I do one day want to become a teacher.  The other period I had the class I HATED.  I worked in the after school program.  I liked it when I got to work with the younger kids, but when I didn’t it was torture.  Those kids were so rude and had the worst attitudes.  I skipped that class so many times.  One time, my friend and I actually got caught and we just knew we were getting written up and were going to get in school suspension.  Surprisingly, we got out of that with no real punishment.  Though I sometimes miss high school, all the experiences I had, and all my friends I made, college is super fun and has been a great learning experience for me.  Even though I have only been here for six months I have learned so much about myself and grown a lot as a person.  I’m glad I have the opportunity to be at this school and experience the amazing things I do.

Favorite Genres of Music

One of my favorite genres of music would have to be rap.  I’m not sure what made me like this genre so much.  It just makes me feel some type of way.  Most of the music I listen to is actually really ignorant and I always seem to laugh at what rappers say.  Truthfully a lot of rap music doesn’t have any money these days; they just rap about money, hoes, and weed.  I really can’t explain the reason I like rap music so much, maybe it’s because all my friends listen to it and that’s what I’m always around or maybe it’s because I just like to laugh at the ignorance that I allow myself to listen to.  I also listen to a lot of R&B, well kind of.  The main people I listen to are Beyoncé and Adele.  I love the way they sing.  There is so much passion in their voices and they also have a talent that a lot of artists today don’t have.  They can actually sing in real life, they sound pretty much the same performing as they do on their cds.  I am able to relate to what a lot of R&B singers say, their songs are very passionate and I am able to relate to them often.

To, Too, Two, There, Their, They're

I am not the best person when it comes to grammar and I know I’m not.  But there is one thing I CANNOT stand and seems to make me mad every time I see it.  I absolutely HATE when people use the wrong to or there.  Like some people always feel the need to type too.  I don’t understand why you need to add an extra o that doesn’t need to be there.  There are only certain times one should put that extra o, you don’t need to type it all the time.  Another person I know always put their.  Their shows possession.  Not everything you type has an owner.  I just don’t seem to get it!  I never understood what was so difficult and confusing about the different uses of these words.  We have been learning the rules to these words since elementary school and I just don’t realize why some people refuse to get the hang of it.  If I’m reading a text or tweet or something of that sort and a person uses either of these words wrong I just stop reading and keep it moving.  Everybody has their pet peeves, and this just happens to be one of my biggest ones.

Public Protest

I believe as long as people aren’t hurting anybody they should be able to record public events.  I don’t see why that would be a problem.  If it’s not causing any problems, then individuals should be able to do it, but if it does lead to an unnecessary problem they should not.  I think the recent crackdown government has had on all these public protests is partially due to safety issues.  I think they don’t want the people involved to end up hurt.  I also think they don’t want people to cause a scene and catch people’s attention.  The government doesn’t want those who believe the government is doing a bad job to convince others of the same thing.  If this happens, they are more likely to be voted out of government or people might end up retaliating against the government.

Top 5 Albums

1.) Beyoncé – Dangerously in Love: This is probably my favorite album in life.  I love every song Beyoncé put on this album and still listen to it on a regular basis.  All the songs and their lyrics are so relatable and I love the passion Beyoncé has when she sings.
2.) Lil’ Wayne – Tha Carter III: Before Lil’ Wayne went to jail he was one of my favorite rappers. I loved his music before he came as popular as he was.  When he got out of jail I feel like that man went crazy and now his music is nowhere near as good as it was before.  This is my favorite album he ever put out and I liked every song on it.  Even though I have heard that cd probably over 50 times, I can still listen to every single song on it like them just as much as the first time I heard them.
3.) Usher – Confessions: I am obsessed with this entire album!!  Out of all of Usher’s albums, this is by far the best one yet.  When I get into a chill mood and just want to listen to some slow music I listen to this album.  It was one of the first cd’s I ever bought and still one of my favorites.
4.) Kanye West and Jay-Z – Watch the Throne: Before I heard this cd, Jay-Z was one of my least favorite rappers.  I never listened to any of his music, to me it all sucked.  When I heard this album I loved like every song.  The lyrics and beats were all so good to me.  This album also made me like Kanye West again.  When Kanye decided he wanted to become a singer and put out 808’s and Heartbreaks, I stopped liking him all together.  This album made me become a Kanye fan again.
5.) Lil’ Wayne – No Ceilings: Even though this is not an official album, I had to put it on here.  This was the mixtape Lil’ Wayne put out right before he went to jail.  Pretty much the last good music he put out in my opinion.  Whenever I would get in a bad mood or be upset about something I turned this on and it always calmed me down and cheered me up.  The songs on this mixtape can change my entire mood and since I tend to be a very angry person, I would definitely need this on a deserted island.

Anger Issues

Today I got reminded that I have severe anger issues.  When I was younger I was never able to control my anger and would often do reckless things when I got upset.  My friend used to tell me she was pretty sure I should invest in anger management classes.  Over the past couple years I have gotten a lot better and have been able to control my temper… until today.  One thing I hate is drama and people talking about me behind my back.  I feel if someone has an issue with me they should confront me about it so it could get solved.
Well today, some boy I don’t like (who knows I don’t like him, because I’ve told him multiple times) decides to go to my best friend saying all types of crazy things. What he said didn’t make me mad, it was the fact that he felt the need to go talk about me when I haven’t talked to him or said one word about him in months.  My anger issues came out and I just wanted to call him and confront him about that situation, but I decided not to because that would just cause drama and more issues I don’t feel like dealing with.  So I just decided to write my blog about it.  On top of all that I just received news that he got arrested, as bad as it sounds that makes me feel a little better and gave me a good laugh.
